I don't doubt Volgarr being more inspired by Rastan, but it really feels a ton like GnG to me as well, and a lot of reviews of Volgarr mention both GnG and Rastan! The sword swinging of course isn't in GnG, but the way the jumping feels, as well as the spear throwing, damage, and difficulty very heavily feels like GnG to me more than just about anything I've played.
