Granted, this is the one part that seems to be a bit convoluted, but Menimemo empties his pen into Brett's wine glass of water, and drops the pen, likely as a result of him being nervous as fuck knowing he is about to kill someone. None of this is noticed due to the argument over the stolen poison, but as Brett starts dying, she sees the out-of-place fountain pen and realizes exactly what the fuck happened from her own past misdeeds, and picks it up in her last moments to hopefully identify the victim. --- Agent Triple Zero at your service!
