With this announcement that Sabretooth will be competing in the tournament, we now have confirmation that former competitors of UK's Robot Wars (which was re-cancelled a couple years ago) can now freely compete in BattleBots because those bots and their likenesses are no longer tied up in exclusivity contracts. That means we could see some more UK competitors like Apollo come to the US for the first time, or potentially other UK-based teams like Beta and Cobalt switching to their more successful Robot Wars counterparts, Terrorhurtz and Carbide. Plus, less travel restrictions from COVID also means more international teams in general will be able to compete this year. ROBOT FIGHTIN' TIME is coming back, and we may be about to see the biggest field of bots ever assembled.
