Okay I'm backing down. I looked up a response to the popular "100 companies, 71% emissions" report from a few years back, and it tore it up, so fair game.

Fact is we can still leverage governments to implement new standards starting at the corporations, but an equally effective strategy is not buying what they're selling, and history tracks that.

We're still not in a great place for people in this country to all buy EV, or use PT.
It's a sort of cyclical feedback loop. There's no demand so there's no infrastructure being built to facilitate demand so people don't demand the infrastructure and then they don't want the product because there's no infrastructure etc etc.

I'm gonna need to replace my roof soon. A solar panel roof is only slightly more expensive but I can't do it unless my entire unit does it and even if they all agree the HOA has to approve it for the whole neighborhood and then they will be obligated to do it so the people who don't want to do it will vote it down.

Government regulations can help but they move as slow as molasses. Local politics move faster but it's hard to get politicians to care about issues at this level and then only other option is to run one's self and then you give up your current life to run a race you might lose.

It's easy to solve climate change from an engineering perspective, the socio-political & economic aspects keep getting in the way.
