I can do roller coasters with no problems because I'm safely strapped in. But standing at the edge of a cliff looking over a guardrail?

I'm just the opposite. Being on a roller-coaster freaks me out. Something about being on a moving vehicle on a rickety swaying steel/wooden frame; not being in control. It scares me.

On the other hand, I'm an avid mountain climber. Never done anything too extreme yet, but I can walk along a high cliff edge without hesitation, and even a somewhat exposed scramble wouldn't really give me pause.
