Topic | Is Assassin's Creed Valhalla any good? |
Hexenherz 07/12/21 9:52:05 AM #27: | viewmaster_pi posted... i don't see any changes they made from odyssey being good, just different. it dumbed everything down too much for its own good for me. i liked the loot, RPG elements and various effects to put together builds. if i knew they were just going to backpedal to pander to the "true fans," by removing all that, i wouldn't have even bothered with valhalla. there's hardly any gear variety and 90% of the perks are completely worthless, but the "true fans" never cared about that stuff, so it's an argument i can't even get a foot in the door withWell now I'm *really* curious what you liked about the inventory system? To me it was not rewarding just holding down X for ten minutes at a time when my inventory got full. I wound up not using more than a couple weapons over the whole length of the game, so yeah that system was dumbed down/streamlined but I think it probably also reflected how a lot of people play when given the choice - keep a weapon you like and upgrade it as you play. And you are like... literally never an assassin. I don't know. Odyssey to me was a massive fucking chore, the world was beautiful but there was zero story and any of the unique side content got drowned out through the oversaturation of generic fetch quest side content. But again, I also didn't like clearing out the same bandit camp 500 times over like they encourage you to do in Odyssey, either. ALSO... the whole war mechanic was totally half-baked. --- FFXIV: Lucius Hexenseele (Brynhildr) | RS3: UltimaSuende . 99 WC/Fish/Cook/Fletch/Div/Mining/Smithing/Thieving/Crafting/RC https://letterboxd.com/BMovieBro/ ...
