In a period of demilitarization are you really shocked that the major governments of the galaxy still use the same fighters? The US is projected to be using F35s for 80 years for crying out loud lol.

Why would Plagueis be brought back? I won't argue Palpatine's return was done well, but on paper it makes sense. It's a character the audience is familiar with and has a connection to. Plagueis is mentioned a grand total of once in the preceding 6 films.

Mind Trick and Telekinesis were picked up in the first film. Telekinesis is baby's first force move, and it's implied the Kylo inadvertently dumped some Mind Trick knowledge in her brain when he was rooting around in there.
Lightning and healing are fair game, since she had been tearing through texts and apprenticed under Leia for like a year.
