Shoot it, that's why if you're the type that likes to walk around you need to have a gun on you so you can kill stray dogs that want to chase you or are coming towards you with intent to do harm, it's pretty easy to tell which dogs are just going after the exciting thing by the fence and which ones want to rip you up, those dogs are extremely fast, bark very aggressively and their tails aren't wagging,. I had to give up on a root some years ago when a trio of pits were walking around there, they took no notice of me but just that same day they ended up attacking the kids walking home from school.

I've managed to just stand my ground and yell down some monster dogs who were charging me.

I'll take my chances rather than shoot a dog personally, but to each their own. If I had a gun and a giant mastiff was coming for me I can't say I wouldn't shoot it. Not gonna fault someone for doing what they gotta to protect themselves.
