| azuarc 07/02/21 11:16:22 AM #7: | Hertz Rental Car and State Farm conspired to fuck me over after an accident where my car was in the shop. The rep from State Farm assured me that I had rental car coverage -- which I was surprised by, and asked for confirmation which I got, so okay, cool -- and then when the body shop took me over to Hertz, they just smiled and nodded and said, "Yup, rent away." And then because you have to give them your credit card beforehand so they can bill you the differential on gas in the tank, they proceeded to charge me for 10 days of having a rental, while State Farm came back and just said, "It's the policy holder's job to know what's in their coverage" and claimed that their representative did not tell me I had rental coverage. I'm like, go back and check the tape, which of course they never did because according to them it didn't matter. I wouldn't have even needed a rental. My dad could have easily lent me a car. I dropped State Farm, despite our family using them for decades, but I can't do anything to get back at Hertz except to swear loudly and longly when I have the chance that nobody else should use them either. --- Only the exceptions can be exceptional. ...
