Topic | ELI5: How would you 3d print something like a car or a gun? |
Yesmar_ 06/28/21 10:38:06 PM #1: | I know that when people talk about this currently they're being tongue in cheek, but people act as if in the future this can be done by a non-professional. But, like how? These are objects that are made up of a variety of different materials. You can't just insert a sheet of plastic (or whatever substance they use for 3d printing) and get something with a fully functional engine or a firing mechanism. That requires metal, among other things, Would you have to design a huge sheet with all the materials in a predetermined place? That's not going to be the kind of thing you can just buy off the street. --- Congrats on Advokaiser for winning the 2018 Guru Contest! Yesmar ... Copied to Clipboard! |
