This is because shitty people who train dogs to do shitty things openly seek out Pitbulls. They do it because of stats like this.

If you are an evil human being wanting to raise an agressive fighting dog then you are going to go out of your way to secure a pitbull.

If the media would stop perpetuating this fear mongering then less thugs would seek out Pitbulls to use as weapons, and these stats would go down.

I've dog fostered many times growing up. I can take a super agressive dog, including a pitbull, and in months train it to be passive, and full of love.

It's a skill. Bad owners, not bad dogs.
