I was a big weeb in my early teen years and that shit kinda turned me away from the community at large, and anime itself, but it's just bleeding everywhere now. Characters can't be rivals any more, they secretly want to fuck. Nor can they be friends. Or sit near each other. Or look at each other at one point in time. Or be involved in a comedy skit. It's really just... annoying. Worst part is if an interaction goes wrong between a popular ship it's literally all you're going to hear about.
