Except war always leads to jumps in technology. This is true for almost any time period. Nearly the entire modern world can be traced back directly to inventions that happened during or as a result of WWII. The same happens with population explosions after wars. Because the soldiers come home and fuck like rabbits. There's a reason they are called Boomers, because the baby boom after WWII resulted in the biggest generation the world had ever seen, only to be surpassed by their own children, Millenials. Its doubtful any event other then a global war would have resulted in such a population explosion. The world population doubled in less then 30 years after the war. It tripled within 50. Without the Baby Boomer generation it would never have grown that fast.
