I love the relationship between Max and Chloe. They get emotional together, joke with each other, have intense disagreements, it genuinely feels like a real friendship, I know because I've had ones just like it. The use of time travel is ingenious and devastatingly effective, putting a dream power into Max's hands, and subsequently yours, and successfully pulling off what having such a power really means from the minute bad decisions we all wish we could do over again to world-shattering, cataclysmic events that shake the very boundaries of reality. Aaaaand, this is all presented with some of the cheesiest ham-fisted dialogue of all time, cliche and worn out school & student tropes, little attention to side characters, and a primary villain ill-befitting of such an otherwise epic storyline with minuscule presence in most beats of the story. When LiS hits hard, it REALLY hits, but often times I feel Max & Chloe are left flailing for something meaningful to do between these moments, no doubt a bad side effect of its episodic method to storytelling.
