I'm all for blocking misinformation, as it has been, at least. You're arguing against some nebulous future issue, but we've already seen the very real results of misinformation..

They've already done bad things and banned true things.

Yes we've seen negative consequences of misinformation, but facebook literally cultivates that shit. Their algorithm is designed to basically funnel "organic moms" into "anti-vaxx groups" and then they go "whoops, let's ban half of them" and not once fix the funnels. Their whole business model is basically about causing fires and for some reason we trust them to be firefighters.

It's stupid, and it's false that it's our only option to let their authoritarian control in to solve a problem they created.
