Yeah, I know that in the past they have been used for better worker conditions, but nowadays people who overwork their staff or treat them poorly just don't recognize them. Any other union is just arguing over getting paid another dollar an hour every few years. If you're part of a union then you're not likely to go anywhere else in the company or promoted. You just have to hope that in a few years the union will get you an extra buck or else you'll have to strike. Plus unions used to be private sector, now they're overwhelmingly public sector where they work against the public good.
