Cincinnati Bengals

QB Brad Smith (S2, 16th)
OT Tavo Tupola (S3, 29th)
HB Erik Haw (S4, 11th)
OT Lyndon Murtha (S5, 14th)
OLB Spencer Adkins (S6, 28th)
SS Patrick Chung (S7, 2nd)
DE Jason Pierre-Paul (S8, 8th)
MLB Kiko Alonso (S9, 1st)
DT Michael Brockers (S10, 27th)
DT Mike Daniels (S11, 3rd)
QB Jake Locker (S12, 16th)
OLB Matthew Judon (S13, 11th)
HB Derrick Henry (S14, 1st)

Smith was a pretty decent scrambling QB who started many seasons in Cincinnati after Brian Griese retired and the rest of his career as either a backup or mid-season injury replacement with the Seahawks, Colts, and Steelers. Those later years had some especially brutal seasons that ultimately caused him to finish with more INTs than passing TDs. Still he had over 20k passing yards and 5k rushing yards, and he capped off his career on a personal high note, even if it was for a bad Seahawks team (they had a ton of QB injuries last season).

Tupola is still kicking around in free agency, but he hasn't been with a team after spending the first 9 seasons of his career with the Bengals. He was blocked by Khalif Barnes and eventually Lyndon Murtha for a starting job on the outside, but he subbed all across the line and played 103 games with 61 starts. He was very inconsistent with his block:sack ratios, but he had a great season or two.

Speaking of inconsistent, Haw was a pretty maddening player. Injuries cost him a ton of games, but he had three seasons of 1400+ rushing yards on 4.3 YPC and was a great asset in the passing game. He was a backup last season, but while playing sparingly, he busted out a 91 yard TD run, so he didn't leave the Bengals with a whimper. He's a free agent now.

Murtha has settled down quite nicely the past four seasons, but knowing that his career block:sack ratio is currently under 7 should tell you how much he struggled before then.

At one point, I thought Adkins was a Top 5 OLB in the league even if his rating didn't suggest it because the dude simply made plays left and right. I don't know who supplanted him, but he eventually was relegated to the bench, and ultimately ended his career as a backup with the Broncos.

One of the more shocking picks in our league, Chung was selected while the Bengals had a 22-year-old rising star at the position. Chung never permanently earned the starting job in Cincy and was traded during the draft to Washington for the pick that ultimately became C Travis Frederick. He has been everything Washington could have hoped for after acquiring him after Adam Archuleta's retirement.

Pierre-Paul was taken in the draft when all 1st round DEs had the same rating. Paul gave the Bengals 4 tackles and a sack in four seasons before being let go, and he's been a free agent since.

Alonso hasn't been dominant, and at times has been a complete non-factor, but he had a resurgent season for a resurgent Bengals defense last season in a contract year, so the former #1 overall pick is looking to build upon it after being re-signed.

Brockers had a nice start to his career with 39 tackles, 7 sacks, and 3 FFs+FRs as a rookie, and while he has improved in run defense, his overall playmaking has diminished to where you have to wonder if that was his peak.

Daniels had an eerily similar rookie season to Brockers but added an extra FF. Daniels completely fell off a cliff after that before roaring back with 12 sacks last season en route to being either a comeback or breakout finalist, I forget which. He doesn't seem to help out in run defense though.

Locker has been more of the more prolific passers since he's entered the league, but even with all the yardage, his passing TDs have gone down each season from 20 to 16 to 14. His INTs have also gone down each season, but the INT rate is still too high. His passer rating and completion % has gone up every season too, so it's really hard to make sense of his future with the team.

Through two seasons, Judon has provided 214 tackles, 10 sacks, 3 INTs, 2 FFs, and 2 FRs. I'd say that he's on his way to becoming the best OLB that the Bengals have had.

Henry did not have a great start to his career. I can't recall perfectly, but I think his YPC was fine, but he was somehow not getting many carries, so there were a bunch of 60-80 yard games. He ultimately finished with 1100+ yards on 4.0 YPC and 6 TDs. Not a bad start to his career, but being the #1 overall pick, the pressure is on him to be more like other Top 5 picks at the position like Doug Martin and Matt Forte.
