Topic	Game idea: GTAV but fun

I like it in concept, but the characters the game makes you play as range from uninteresting (Franklin), to uninspired (Michael), to outright annoying (Trevor). They're just really hard to connect with an root for. Compare with John Marston and Arthur Morgan who actually have some decent writing behind them That's a good way to put it with these characters. I think when they stopped paying homages to movies and iconic character influences, their quality really took a nosedive, starting with 4 and the horribly whiny, unlikable niko dude. 3's protagonist was a blank slate sure, but 4 was pretty much a combination of scarface and other mafia movies like goodfellas, with tommy vercetti literally voiced by ray liotta for good measure. Similarly, San Andreas started off being reminiscent of movies like boyz in the hood and menace to society (before becoming hilarious with stuff like Area 51 and owning a casino) and was just fun about what it was. These new protagonists, it's just like... okay?
