Topic	If you had to imagine a Western RPG set in modern times what would it look like?

The games are like 30-40 years in the future and they have advanced cybertechnology that people can put into them, and the other major change is magic and non-human humanoids are around. I guess you're probably not familiar with the source material and are basing your opinion on the more recent games, but the setting is reasonably close to what you might see in some cities. While there are futuristic elements and fantasy, the overall theme was very contemporary. When you go through the core book (I think it was a core edition, I'm not sure what happened to my copy), it has suggestions for encounters in convenience stores. Additionally, the cyber-tech is often pretty low budget. The potential upgrades include installing a shotgun in somebody's forearm, something that you kinda can do with modern technology. Granted, part of it is that it was a future as envisioned in the 1980s and it was only set maybe 40-50 years in the future (which iirc they've pushed out) ParanoidObsessive posted...
