| Topic | Gal Gadot gets backlash for her statement on Israel-Palestine violence |

Hopefully you rally against the actions of the United States and protecting their international interests and proxy wars as much as you do against an Israeli wanting there to be peace and making no statement about the Gaza Strip.Absolutely. America's actions in the middle east destabilized the entire region, and Bush's hunt for WMDs drew Australia into the Iraq War - most likely through the ANZUS treaty, though I don't know for sure. Since then, the US has enforced their military might with drone strikes and through the assassination of foreign generals. And the few areas where a US presence actually mattered, like when they were helping the Kurds resist Turkish violence in Syria, have come to nothing with the US's withdrawal. You also have Saudi Arabia's conflict with Yemen, which is decried as a genocide by some - with the US acting on behalf of Saudi Arabia. The modus operandi of America is violence and destabilisation, and then they barge in and take prisoners without a trial or a warrant, and they stick them in places like GitMo to endure torture and unlawful detention for decades. The same as I don't want China detaining Uighurs in re-education camps, or Azerbaijan to persecute and murder Armenians in the street, I decry the US's destabilizing violence in accordance with equally violent international regimes to protect their interests. I also believe that the US, by itself, is responsible for war crimes in the middle east that they engaged with for the sake of oil, and they'll never be charged with those war crimes, letting the deaths of hundreds of thousands of civilians in the past 20 years go unavenged. So no, this isn't an isolated opinion against Israel. I understand that there's reasonable doubt whenever somebody goes all in on Israel and only Israel - for all of the evil committed by the state, Israel is used as a scapegoat by anti-semites to further their anti-semitism. It's a reasonable fear. But I think anyone with an ounce of human decency should be able to view what's happening right now and decry the violence being committed against Palestine, especially in the greater context of Israel's occupation and in the disproportionate amount of violence being levelled against Palestinian civilians by the IDF. My feelings on Israel are in a similar ballpark to my feelings on China. I have no beef with the people, or in this case the religion - but the state can and should go and fuck themselves. --- One thing about the good guys that I've noticed: they always beg for mercy in the end.
