A) So Lairen was being sarcastic and *does* believe some gun laws would keep kids from being shot or school shootings? I read his/her statement as being exaggerated but genuine as it was supporting the death penalty even if an innocent person is killed once in a way.
B) You agree that your original statement was inaccurate as Cruz legally purchased the rifle?
C) To answer your original question, I'm not sure what specific law would have helped but feel there is room to look at things like red flag criteria etc. My response/question to Lairen had been to clarify if they were outright opposed as some 2A advocates (LaPierre) have stated school school shootings/ suicides/ kids dying while playing with guns are "just the cost we pay".
