He doesn't "get a pass." We had a conversation about it and about source validity and vetting in general (he said other things unrelated to the china topic that I disagreed with and cited fake news sources as well) and we came to an understanding. As far as I know, he has not repeated the things he was saying that time. I said I planned to speak to him about it and I did. Not my fault people didn't want to believe me and instead chose to harass. I don't expect that to continue indefinitely though, and in fact it has predictably died down a lot since the incident happened 2 months ago.
