Topic	Why do politicians drag their feet on police reform?

Why is it lawyers take years of school to practice law but we expect police to enforce it with 6 months of training? It makes no sense. 6 months of the academy, 1 year of FTO, and 1 year of being on probation. Policing isn't something that is just taught in the classroom, the academy only trains you so much for the beat. Its also an issue of funding, bigger cities don't always provide a whole lot of funding and more funding = more training. The lawyer police comparison doesn't really make sense once you realize that in law school you don't just learn criminal, state and constitutional law. You're learning Admiralty, Business, Environmental, First Amendment, Health Care, Intellectual Property Law, Patent, Family law etc. Not everyone who goes through law school ends up a prosecutor or defense attorney. --- Interviewer: "You're not even a superhero you're more of a vampire slayer."
