So what exactly do you find complicated about this case? murder vs. manslaughter is the main thing. the actual COD (was it heart issues or suffocation) complicates a thing. Would it be considered premeditated? To what extent is the choke hold within / outside of established protocol/common practice. To what extent would it be reasonable for Chauvin to expect his behavior to lead to death (without knowing Floyd's health conditions ahead of time)? what is the boundary between this death being accidental/intentional and where does this fall between the two? What is the evidence pointing in either direction and is there sufficient evidence to upgrade to the greater charger? Was this an issue of malintent, or an accident due to negligence? Is there evidence that race played a factor in his decision-making at any point? to make a decision as a juror, you need to discuss every single one of these questions and come up with a unanimous answer across the board in terms of which charge is appropriate given all of those answers.
