| WaterLink 04/15/21 10:54:45 PM #477: | I hadn't played an actual chess game myself in a few days, just been studying some stuff to improve my game. Found a channel that a chess grandmaster has where he plays games and explains all of his moves and the mindset that helps him decide how to play. I find I learn much better that way than the training programs that throw random positions at you and ask you what move to make. This channel actually goes into depth from the opening to the end and each game is different so you can start to recognize high level patterns starting from when a game first starts. I've been trying to take it all in and incorporate some of the stuff I learned into my own games to improve. Decided to go into a game today after my hiatus, and I'll be damned if I didn't checkmate an opponent rated higher than me in 11 moves.
