Or they can spend 6 months preparing people for this concept, and actually have some kind of research done when they make a proposal instead of a half-baked bill.

Maybe they know that 6 months from now, after Covid is in the rearview mirror and people are happy and glad we reached herd immunity, would be the perfect time to start that kind of legislation.

I also think they are giving the supreme court one last chance to prove they won't do something insane like ban abortion, and strike down some of the conservative overreach. If they can't do that, then it's time to court-pack.
Might as well just declare Biden the King and have all his decisions be final with no right to an appeal.
