His feedback was that I should take more time and think about the deeper complexities of a problem (granted I asked for feedback)

its really tough for me as an interviewer to give feedback since i usually need to sit down and digest their answers for a while before i feel comfortable grading them. a lot of the time i end up in a totally different spot than my first impression from the interview

it is usually good feedback to slow down in interviews though -- not finishing all the questions isnt necessarily a bad thing, and being able to divide up a problem and think about what a solution would look like is worth something even if you don't solve it

I found Cracking the Coding Interview useful for brushing up before interviewing again. Covers a wide range of topics with practice problems and goes over system design interviews (not sure if that is relevant for you).

yeah this book rocks
