Anti-violent video game rhetoric is a fairly bipartisan thing, actually.

If by "bipartisan," you mean far heavier on the left than right but not without some on the right, sure. Keep in mind that CT was home to perhaps the TWO most vehement ant-videogame senators... and then when one didn't seek re-election, we got another anti-videogame asshole, this time it was a guy who believed TMNT was too violent for kids.

In fact, when you look at most of the high profile hearings, they're invariably led by Democrats (often ones from CT, because the state is deadset on being an embarrassment to the nation)

...actually, I was going through a long list of incidents and legislation, and most of them were led by the same fucking guy -- Joe fucking Lieberman -- so it might not necessarily be the greatest of samplings. Had the Gore ticket won in 2000, violent video games may have been outlawed.
