You may recall the scene from S1 E5 where Rick and Shane are in the woods. Shane is frustrated and aims his gun at Rick from afar, but ultimately doesn't shoot and we see Dale was watching. Well in the comic this scene was the end of Shane. Carl was the one who saw Shane aiming at his father and shot him then and there. Then Rick put him down after he turned (several issues later).
