* Find the inverter I needed, but haven't used it yet
* Living on gas station food right now because I can't cook anything and all the real food places are closed
* Got to see how well my car handles icy roads a lot more as the night went on. Made it to the Supercharger in Schertz, TX. Had to take some back roads because the highways are all blocked off. Took forever. Came upon some icy hills, but my car didn't get much trouble navigating over them. A couple people couldn't maintain traction and had to turn back.
* Decided to drive west from San Antonio for some dumb reason. Ended up at a McDonald's that I couldn't even see because it was so dark. Decided to turn back.
* My windshield started icing over on the way back. Had to turn the heat and defrosting all the way up to see where I was going. This hit scary. There was a small window in the ice that I could see through and it was dark AF.
I was trying to make my way back to the Supercharger in Leon Springs, TX, but the electric company had turned that one off by the time I got back to it.
That sounds like an adventure. I'm pretty sure I've done each one of them in some way shape or form...but I at least saw them coming.
Honestly, if you have the right car for it driving in the snow can be a blast.
Not going to lie, it is interesting hearing people just dealing with stuff for the first time.
Also, use that inverter sparingly on any sensitive equipment.
Most store-bought inverters put out a modified sine wave which is really not meant for high-end electronics.
Edit: I think you are pretty much out of the clear in a few hours. It looks like there is a nice front coming in for you.
