I mean, I agree mead but I don't think we are there yet, there are still too many jobs that need humans.

So I think we should start slowly cutting away at the # of people who need to work. Start off with eldery, or people who are beyond optimum work age (and make it voluntary of course), include obviously all disabled, then start expanding from there.

I think if you give young people 18-30 the option to not work, it could be a bad thing, basically you should need to work at least 10 years in some capacity to be able to get UBI. That is a bit hard to determine though because of self employment etc, so I would simply do it by age.

That does mean you could live with parents possibly till you qualified etc, but UBI would also be the bare minimum to live on, not enough to really enjoy life, therefore giving incentive for people to keep working after they qualify for it.

It would provide a safety net for everyone, and allow everyone to retire eventually without massive worries etc.
