Yeah, they don't really explain that Ocelot's plan kinda shifted after 2. Big Boss makes it seem like he was doing the self-hypnosis thing the whole time, but the Liquid thing was legit in 2, at least at first. Maybe Ocelot began playing it up by the end once he realized he could use it to his advantage, but I don't think the fact that his father was a spirit medium was intended to be a red herring. --- ...
