| Sorozone 02/08/21 8:03:55 AM #26: | Yeah baseball is unique. The stats can show you as the GOAT 10x over, but there is a lot of luck involved as well. So much so they even have stats for your luck! This is why W/L is a bad metric for pitchers in baseball, and why theoretically a player twice as good as Trout could be in the same position as Trout is now. Very few playoff appearances, no major wins. It's why I personally don't take too much stock in championships for team sports. Basketball, and I guess Hockey(granted I don't know too much about hockey, so feel free to correct me) is where the true greats can really take over and will a team to a win. Including championships. Even then I'm hesitant to use championships as an indicator as a great player in those sports too. --- ... Copied to Clipboard! |
