The group I was training with at the time referred to all black belts as "<first name> sensei". I was helping out with a kids' class for a while and on the last day of the semester, my fellow instructor was giving the kids a quiz. At one point, he pointed to me and asked the youngest kid in the class - a boy who could not have been older than four - "What's his name?" "darkknight sensei" "And what's his last name?" The kid gave him the biggest 'Are you fuckin' stupid or something?' look and replied, "Sensei!" in his most sardonic 'I literally just said that' tone of voice.
