I remember that being particularly true about calm lands where you're more like to get ogre encounters in one corner or so, and coeurls in another, etc. I think there's also some talk about tonberry encounters in the sunken cavern being higher in some specific areas, but I don't remember specifically which, or even if it was just a myth. --- "That thick shaft that causes women to shudder!" ...
