I saw a video where if you type in "hospital name + financial aid/assistance" you can find out how much the hospital is legally required to bring your bill down by if you call the hospital and negotiate with them. It's all based on how much you make per year.
The example I saw was if you make 3 times or less than federal poverty level (so around like $34K or less a year) then the example hospital would forgive the entire bill.
If you don't want to do that, you can always call and negotiate your bill by saying "i can't afford that" and they'll bring the price down.
Yeah, this seems doubtful but I'd like it to be true
