The Left, and most Liberals probably definitely understand the US is the Evil Empire, see basically any music that mentions the government, most TV and movies show the Government as a big bad in the way of the hero, etc, indeed, many Conservatives also understand it and in their case--they revel in it. --- Phantom Dust.
