We are past that point. Literally the main reason of that event was to bolster Trump's claims that a fair and free election was stolen from him. Regardless of whether they showed up in neo-Nazi garb or never joined in on the ransack of the Capitol, they were all motivated enough to travel from around the country and to support an absolute farce to upend our democratic process.

The GOP has always played that "voter fraud" card when they lose elections because what they're saying is Black people legally have no right to vote therefore those votes should not count and it's fraudulent which is absurd because the VRA which never should have been needed to begin with, gave Black people the right to vote in 1965 so therefore those claims of voter fraud are false.

The racist Southern politicians in the 1960s were upset at the passage of the VR and CR Acts because they knew if those Black people in the South who had been mistreated under the racist Jim Crow policies of the South got the chance to vote, they would not vote for them so they felt that their stranglehold of Supremacy in the South that they had held for over 100 years was now in jeopardy and that's what this is all about.
