Depends on the situation.

Let's say you really like beer. Or gin. Or bourbon. Or scotch. Or whatever, and you drink every day. But you don't get drunk and it doesn't negatively impact your life. If someone said, "stop drinking," wouldn't that be an appropriate response? Oh no, you drink a few drinks daily... so? Why quit if you don't want to in that circumstance?

I've said that I'd probably be classified as a high-functioning alcoholic for having 5+ drinks every day for over a decade. The look of horror some people give to that. Meanwhile, I'm more than gainfully employed and help run our own business on top of that, don't drink and drive, aren't abusive, and have a perfectly happy and healthy family life with my wife and kids.

Drinking's only a problem when it causes problems. If some schlob keeps drinking after getting DUIs or their life falls into shambles, yeah, sure. Then it absolutely is a problem. But drinking regularly isn't the same as drinking to excess regularly.

Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.
