I think you should give someone the choice of execution they want. I support the death penalty, but not as a deterrent, just as a means to remove people who are an ever-present danger if left alive. Some serial rapist or murderer isn't going to change. They can't be released. There's no point in wasting tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands in tax dollars for someone that the world only benefits from by not having them exist at all.

See, I'm torn on this issue. With that said, I lean toward supporting the penalty for similar reasons.

And if I was a victim, or relative of a victim, I would feel safer knowing they would never be able to harm me, my family, or anyone else ever again.

But at the same time, I don't trust the current criminal justice system. It's very likely that innocent people would die due to the death penalty.
