And other parties do try it. It's been a thing libertarians have been trying to do in new hampshire for over a decade. Damn_Underscore posted... This isn't just some clever idea, it's basically a loophole to commit election fraud without actually committing election fraud (I think, there may actually be laws against this). This would very much undermine the spirit of elections.
