His only theoretical involvement is his ability to commute sentences, at which point you'd probably be making a topic about him "letting murderers off the hook" Personally, I'm not in favor of the death penalty (excluding maybe in the case of revolutionary/terrorist leaders and mob bosses) or even life sentences. Notwithstanding that it was a pretty horrible crime, but it's not the sort of thing that really warrants a death penalty in the first place. It should have just been a prison sentence.
