My right knee has been on the downhill slide for like six or seven years, and now it's crunchy, for lack of a better word. Started out with occasional pain/buckling when taking the stairs, now it hurts every time I take the stairs and starts to lock up or buckle if I'm taking the stairs for more than a few minutes. It also audibly creaks and pops throughout any motion and sounds like a ratcheting wrench.

If I sit down and extend my leg not only can you hear it but if you put your hand on it you can feel it. It feels like a metallic candy wrapper crinkling inside my knee.

That's my crunchy knee story.
