I had a professor who took marks off of me for not attending classes on Jewish high holidays (Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur.) I was too young to have the knowledge to do something about, so I dropped out. But for some reason, he got great reviews! At least he was nice to me in my last semester. By then, I knew I would do something if he gave me crap for my religion. And I once had a professor who was flat out mean, yet he received good reviews. As for a professor who I liked but got bad reviews, I did have one professor who I thought was lots of fun and I thoroughly enjoyed having. I liked saying hi to him when I saw him outside of class as well. Sadly, the other students didn't like him. There is another professor who I loved and it seemed that my classmates loved having him, too, but recently he has had terrible reviews on RateMyProfessors.
