The original Prey was not exactly a hot commodity in its day and had been all but forgotten about long before this game was announced. It was a cult classic at best and there were not people confused about it's relationship to this game. The cancelled sequel had more influence on it than the original game and Joe Q Public never even knew about the sequel.
