Any time anybody escalates anything past speech, that person becomes at fault, regardless of who started things verbally. If you have to point at a teenager and go "Yeah but they made fun of me" to explain something you did, you done fucked up. I guess we just view this a bit differently. I agree he shouldn't have gotten out of his car. He shouldn't have approached her threateningly. He shouldn't have said most of what he said. He certainly seems to have anger issues that may need checking into. So I'm not excusing his actions at all. I think he approached this situation horribly. My viewpoint on this is like a damaged part at the start of an assembly line. Everything ends up wrong, but only because of that first part.
