Yeah, but that's a poor excuse for his actions because what she did had no actual impact on him whatsoever, is the point. That's like getting arrested for assault and telling police "Yeah but she called me ugly so it's her fault." Any time anybody escalates anything past speech, that person becomes at fault, regardless of who started things verbally.
