Toxtricity 11/15/20 9:54:58 PM #31: | 1. PSO2 2. Sonic Shuffle 3-???. i dunno i totally changed my order of favorite things recently, i decided so i have to figure it out again. sonic shuffle held the title from ~2015-2020, but after finally listening to all ~37hrs of pso2 music, can confidently say it's my favorite ost. Both soundtracks for basically the same reason--diverse but still an overarching distinct sound i seek--stylistically cohesive focused osts that happen to contain pretty much every unrelated type of music I enjoy in them at the same time (particularly combinations of traits that aren't common to find fused together: edm mixed with avant-prog especially is not something you see almost ever. and both explore a wide range from the very artificial to the very natural, often in combination, which is also important to me. simultaneous hypnotic minimal repetition and overstimulating dense complexity is another combo that can be difficult to find but it's present in spades in both soundtracks (I guess that is kinda implied by "both edm and prog")). PSO tbh mostly only takes the claim for favorite because it has so much music but i probably like sonic shuffle more consistently after that some big hits but not confidently ordered: Opoona Coded Soul Caravan Stories Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil Klonoa: Door to Phantomile Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky Shining Wisdom Wachenroder Ar Tonelico II Border Down Senko no Ronde DUO Einhander Zero Divide 2 Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door Super Paper Mario Panzer Dragoon Orta but the list goes on forever. I listen to a stupidly huge amount of vgm and this is just the tip of the iceberg of vgm that makes me happy! : ) --- time ... Copied to Clipboard! |
