That's generally going to be better for your bottom line, but there's something to be said for the quality of life improvement that comes from being debt-free, even if it ends up being financially suboptimal. One should do the math to see just how much potential income is being given up by paying off the mortgage (or other low-interest loans) quickly, since it will often be a pretty substantial difference, but sometimes, it can be worth it. --- This is my signature.
