it's much better to have a too-strict spoiler policy with spoiler tags available than to have it too loose, because people have different qualifications of what kinds of spoilers they don't want to see. you have to consider things from other people's perspectives to the most reasonable degree; you can't qualify the severity of spoilers based solely on your sensibilities. it takes very little effort to respect spoilers, just slap anything questionable inside of spoiler tags
on the other hand, this babying kind of perpetuates the spoiler conflict. I think it's purely circular: people severely overestimate the impact spoilers will have on their enjoyment, because of how severe the regulations on spoiler warnings have become, therefore they are severely butthurt when they are spoiled.
I'm not about to spoil anyone but I encourage you to spoil yourself. It's freeing and it's the way forward for online discourse. There is no reason plot points should hinder your enjoyment so don't let it.
